This month I am excited to be one of three awesome Guest Hoppers that you should definitely check out:
1. Cheryl Piotrowski
2. Charlene Luks
3. Barbara Welch
When I think spring is coming, I usually get excited for sunshine to brighten up dreary Indiana.
But right now I have Easter and butterflies on my mind. Even though I am glad winter is coming to an end, I am sad Sale-A-Bration is also coming to an end, so I had to make a few projects using Sale-A-Bration freebies before they are gone for good! I think the the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set and Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper are the epitome of spring!

For the Honeycomb card, I used Shimmery White cardstock for the background matted on Hello Honey Cardstock. Then, I used Aqua Painters to paint Watermelon Wonder ink as the background. The chick was stamped in StazOn ink on Watercolor Paper, then painted Daffodil Delight with Aqua Painters, and then cut out with Snips and adhered over the background. The white Honeycomb Embellishment was sprayed yellow with a Spritzer filled with Daffodil Delight ink refill. This is not the easiest technique for the sake of messiness, but it sure looks cute when finished! |
The coordinating treat was created with Blushing Bride Cardstock and the Fry Box Bigz L Die run through the Big Shot and adhered with Fast Fuse Adhesive. I ran the Perfectly Artistic DSP through as well and then cut out the back and front pieces to layer over the more sturdy cardstock. I then cut two pieces of Mint Macaroon cardstock with the Fringe Scissors to create some grass. The eggs I bought at Kroger and filled a 4x6 bag, tied with Island Indigo ribbon to match the candy. The Hello Honeycomb chick was stamped in Smoky Slate ink and cut out with to attach to the front. |
And because I used some Island Indigo to offset the pastels, I wanted to create a bolder butterfly look using that color. I stamped some Thick Whisper White cardstock with the Swallowtail stamp in Island Indigo. Then, I used the Butterfly Thinlits in the Big Shot to get the second butterfly in Old Olive. The last butterfly was made using old DSP in Smoky Slate color, stamped with a greeting from the And Many More stamp set.
I hope you liked my projects! Don't forget to participate in the giveaway!
