Recently, I have had a chance to use my new Letters for You Bundle. When I first saw these in the new 2016-2017 Catalog, I knew they would be perfect for scrapbooking. This summer we went camping, so I decided to use them for the title of the spread. I first stamped them in Old Olive on Whisper White cardstock, and I love how the stamps are faded in certain spots to look more modern. I then punched the Letters out on the Big Shot.
I used the Always an Adventure Bundle to make the mountain landscape. We went camping in Pennsylvania, so not quite the Smokey Mountains, but you get the idea.
I also had a custom order for someone who wanted a Happy Birthday banner for a special friend whose daughter was turning one. I used a Cricut (thanks, Cari!) to make the Night of Navy banner shapes and the cute Melon Mambo crabs. Then I used my Big Shot to punch out the Whisper White circles and the letters with the Letters for You.
After that, I covered it with contact paper, threaded it with twine and added a few ribbons. Adorable!
Now, I know this bundle is quite expensive, so the only way to justify it is to get it 50% off! Hosts who have a qualifying workshop get to choose one item at 50% off, so this is the way to go! Ask me more!
I love the song by Jonny Diaz called Breathe. And now my Bible Study at church is going through Priscilla Shirer's study called Breathe. As I normally do, I wanted to copy the cover of the study in my Journaling Bible to help visually remember the study to remind me in the future to just Breathe.
First, I take a picture of the cover and print a copy scaled to size so that I can cut out and trace.
Next, I used a Versamark pen to trace the text. I actually found my old Stampin' Up! large heat emboss tray helpful for embossing something larger than a card. Once traced, I covered with white emboss powder, used my brush to wipe away the excess, and set with the Heat Tool.
Lastly, I used my new sponge brayer to apply Pool Party ink over the page to make the white text appear.
What do you think? On Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6-8pm I'll be leading Creative Crafting at my church if you want to come and try this out for yourself!
Did you know: every year, Stampin' Up! comes out with a stamp set that supports Ronald McDonald House Charities? With each stamp set sold, SU donates $3 to RMHC. This year, the set is called My Hero.
I love this set because it is so versatile! The flyer below show the stamps included. Those shaded in blue coordinate with our framelits (used in the Big Shot). Those shaded in beige coordinate with our punches.
And what is even better? There are other products that coordinate with this set!
For example, the Weather Together Bundle and the Badges and Banners Bundle.
Come try out this set at my July Card Class! We'll be making 5 cards (for $10 or free with a $50 order). RSVP here!
Here are the 5 cards we'll be making!
I finally found an excuse to try Project Life. Last summer, I started my bucket list of attending tennis majors. I started stateside with the US Open in New York, and hope to hit the other three sometime in my life. Just in case I don't, I didn't want a big album, so this 6x8 album is perfect! I bought two packs of pages and then scooped up several Project Life cards and accessory kits in the Clearance Rack. I love the cork stickers from the Happiness Is set! Check out each of my pages below, all of which I put together in about 3 hours!
Last month was my first time participating in a daily challenge! I loved having "homework" to complete and feeling like I was accountable to get some crafting done each day! Thanks for liking my posts last month as I shared a project a day on Facebook and my newly created Instagram account! I am proud to have completed all 30 days (except for cheating on day 4 and posting a mixed media project I made at a class a few years ago)! So, I thought I would post a picture of all of my projects in one place.
Now, I want to do another challenge...will you join me?
Every year I am sad (and confused) by some of the products retiring. Of course the In Colors (Lost Lagoon...sniff sniff), a bunch of stamps, and all the paper are leaving. Here is a list of my Top 10 I hate to see leave:
Warning: Everyone (and their mother) is trying to get these products before they are gone, so I apologize in advance if the website is down or slooooow. If you want, you can email me your order and I will try to save you any headache.
Stampin' Up! has announced which products from the Annual Catalog are retiring! See the full list below!
The 2014-2016 In Colors are also leaving, and those never last long! See the picture to the right for what you might need. Since time is of the essence, I would suggest placing an order online: www.cherylpiotrowski.stampinup.net
The new 2016-2017 Annual Catalog starts June 1! Come to my Open House on Friday, June 3 from 5-8 pm to pick up your copy and make a free card!
Which products are you going to miss most???
I can't say I like bears a whole lot, and I am far from a fisherman.
So when I saw this Bear Hugs stamp set in the Occasions catalog, I didn't think much of it.
But then a friend ordered it and she said to me when it arrived, I could use it. So, I did.
And now I think this is the cutest set ever! (psst...and it's returning to the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!)
I love the options for making father's day cards, or there's even a skirt option if you want to dress up a mama bear. Here are the 3 cards I made using this set with close-ups below.
Check out this video on how to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the bear stamp on both sides when you bend the arms.
